Network analytics is basically built around data gathered from telecommunication network management tasks, also known as FCAPS - an acronym for Fault, Configuration, /Accounting (or Administration), Performance, Security. The comprehensive management of information technology infrastructure is a fundamental necessity because customers rely on 24x7 monitoring, availability and performance of infrastructure so that problems can be identified proactively and resolved. Unfortunately, the management of these five functions also produces tons of data on a daily & hourly basis. It is literally impossible to make sense out of data without turning analytics on. Summary Dashboard:

Summary dashboard is not specific to any group or organization. It can be used for a wide variety of functional teams like Marketing, Engineering, Finance, etc. Our focus is to provide network wide visibility, utilization, trend utilization, track general KPIs related to performance, fiancé, QoE, opportunities, revenue leakages, etc. With the help of interactive tools, key summary data can be presented utilizing charts and graphs. Some of the key metrics that we track are active & total subscribers, peak Kbps up and down per active subscriber, daily & monthly median MB, upstream & downstream usage, etc.

Usage Management Dashboard:

Focus of this dashboard is to understand subscriber behaviors on the network as to how the network is being used by each subscriber and for what purpose so that existing opportunities can be optimized, new opportunities can be identified, and new services can be launched. It allows to understand how each subscriber service plan are performing at a network and business level. The dashboard will summarize key data into in variety of display widgets like histograms, scorecards, tabular, chart, and graphs format for a better visual understanding. Some of the key metrics that we will provide are usage per subscriber (over & under), list of subscribers who top up, upstream and downstream usage, usage quota, etc.

Peak Period Analysis Dashboard:

This dashboard will reveal peak period traffic pattern & analysis based on which NW operators can make detailed forecasting, make future capacity & investment decisions, plan for peer routing decisions, and do burst analysis. Granularity of data may also reveal the extent to which Service Providers may or mayn’t meet SLAs during the period, and the consequences of non-compliance with SLA during the peak period, service plans contributing the most to peak period, applications driving peak today or tomorrow, etc. Some of the key metrics that we track are – peak subscribers, services & applications affected, projected Kbps per subscriber, growth rate, percent peak Kbps per subscriber, etc.

Traffic Management Dashboard:

This dashboard mostly focuses on providing information regarding lack of capacity causing congestion, congestion management, and subscriber quality of experience (QoE). Granularity of data tells the whole story about congestion, frequency and prevalence of congestion to help Operators in making investment decisions, and plan for added capacity at the right locations in the network as opposed to adding capacity at a wrong location. Some of the key metrics that we will track are locations where subscriber QoE is at risk, total traffic volume, % of time congested, average peak bandwidth per Subscriber, # of managed vs unmanaged events, round-trip times, etc.

Interconnect Quality Dashboard:

Dashboard helps NW Operators not only in understanding quality of interconnect but also gain insight into external & internal variables causing operator network to utilize interconnect or peers link. It leads to better understand whether interconnect utilization is happening because of the inefficiency built in the operator network or capacity saturation or misconfiguration or excessive congestion in the operator network. It provided answer to better optimize internal & external routing paths through interconnects to handle peak period & congestion, identify inefficient routing paths, isolate low quality interconnects, and better utilize high quality interconnects and control interconnect costs. Some of the key metrics that we will track are peak rate upstream (Mbps), peak rate downstream, AS drill-down etc. to understand nature & quality of interconnect relationships.
